The first type of sink is the vanity sink. This is a sink that is installed into a cabinet of some kind. It can be a stand-alone cabinet or a series of cabinets that cover an entire wall. The sink is usually installed in one of two ways. The first is when the sink is molded to the counter. In this case the sink is indistinguishable from the rest of the counter. The second type of installation is a self rimming installation. In this case the sink is lowered into a hole cut in the counter that is slightly small than the rim of the sink. The sink sits on the counter just outside of all four sides of the hole. This option is good for master bathrooms or larger second bathrooms in your home where you need a lot of storage.
Porcelain kitchen and bathroom sinks are also widely in use. It is still the prime choice of many home makers. It has a shiny appearance and are much durable material. Porcelain offers the widest range of colors and shades than any other sink material. They can be fixed as either surface mount or as under mount. Porcelain sinks are available in every possible style. Porcelain sinks are affordable and are easy to clean and maintain. Enamel sinks are another type of sinks, which are a good choice, for those who want to save money on their sinks. Enamel sinks are available in different contour and color. Maintaining enamel sinks is a bit more difficult than porcelain. Care should be taken not to use any abrasive cleaners on enamel sinks.
Sinks are the most important part in any bathroom. It is very difficult to use a bathroom without a proper sink. It is also very difficult to conceive a modern day bathroom without the sink. Bathroom sinks available these days come in various styles, shapes ranging from the simplest one to the most luxurious and fancy one. Different varieties of bathroom sinks are seen like the one which is fixed to the wall or the one which is fixed on a pillar or a pedestal. Most of the sinks used in the bathrooms of public rest rooms are wall mounted ones as they require less space. But they can easily become unstable and wobbly if people tend to lean or sit on the wall mounted sink. The sturdiest of all the designs of bathroom sinks are the ones that are mounted on the countertops or cabinets. This is found to be more stable than the pedestal ones.
