It is always better to get your sinks with predrilled holes on it. Most sinks tend to have about four holes drilled in them. However based on your necessity you can add or reduce the number of holes present in the sink. You can use readymade plugs available to cover unused holes and also get a hole drilled if you need more holes. As sinks are available in a variety of materials you have to analyze the advantages and disadvantages of the common materials used to build sinks. This would allow you to select the right sink material to suit your needs.
The third main type of sink is the pedestal sink. This arrangement is just what it sounds like. There is a basin supported by a single pedestal in the middle. The pedestal is usually of great girth and sometimes quite ornamental. These sinks are best in small powder rooms where space is extremely limited. The fourth type of sink is also suited to small spaces and that is the wall-mounted sink. These sinks take up even less room than the pedestal sink because there is nothing under them. The sink is attached directly to the wall. They are very easy to clean, but you should not consider this type of sink if you have children. Children so not always understand that you can’t put extra weight on a wall-mounted sink and they will lean on it. This could cause a disaster if the sink pulls away from the wall.
Another widely used sink is the traditional vessel sink. These vessel sinks have been used for designing bathroom sinks for many homes and businesses. This bowl-shaped sink appears to be submerged on a top of a counter. Tall filler faucets and sometimes wall faucets are installed above these vessel sinks. Traditional vessel sinks come in different types of materials such as china, ceramic, bronze, glass, and clay.
Copper has natural antibacterial properties. It will prevent the germs from developing in the sink. Some copper sinks have coatings which totally remove the natural antibacterial properties of copper, so it is advisable to go for a non coated copper sink for the sink to be germ free. Moreover the coating or the plating will eventually wear off. Natural colouration of copper is feasible but ageing improves the appearance of copper. Copper apron sinks that are mainly used in farmhouses can be made more feasible if you give a fire and ice finish on the apron.
Console lavatory sinks require more space than pedestal sinks, but give a wonderful vintage look to your bathroom. Console sinks are mounted on two or more legs that offer both style and support to the top basin. The water supplies are exposed with this type of sink.
