Today, there are many parents who are utilizing the resources that are available through the internet and organizations that support home schooling efforts. In this way, they are able to provide a Christian based home school to their children with less effort than ever before. In addition, there are some free home school resources that can be used so that parents who want to do a little more work on the research end of planning curriculum can provide a Christian based home school for free, except for the materials needed for crafts and writing. These Christian based home schools will usually teach the four regular core subjects of math, English, history and science in addition to the fifth subject of Bible studies. There will also usually be some extra courses in physical education, art, music and more depending on the interests of the parents and children and the requirements in that particular state.

Legal and Comprehensive

There are two main areas that parents need to cover when providing a Christian based home school for their children. First, they need to make sure they are going about it legally. Each state and school district have different requirements that parents need to follow when wishing to provide a Christian based home school for their children. If the children will be withdrawn from the public or private school in the middle of a school year then the parents will usually need to talk to their current teachers to let them know about the decision and get any feedback that they might have on the decision. Many times the teachers will be helpful, but parents also need to be aware that there are some teachers who will not support such a decision since parents usually do not have teaching degrees.

The other area that parents need to be sure to address is the comprehensive nature of the curriculum that they choose to use in the Christian based home school for their children. They need to be sure that the curriculum offers plenty of resources so that the different learning styles of each child can be addressed with the same system. They also need to make sure that the information in the curriculum meets with the state standards as well as their own standards for educating their children. If there are weaknesses in a particular curriculum, the parents will need to spend some time in supplementing the curriculum with other materials and activities.
